Are you planning to dispose off your old shoes? If yes, then wait and get to know about a few things that you can do with your discarded shoes.
Make them your wall hangings- No matter how worn your shoes are, don't discard them so easily. Many a times, people throw away their great grandmother's Victorian shoes, which is completely stupid. You can rather hang them on the wall at any special place in your home or hang them by the side of any picture. Even baby shoes can be hanged on walls and they will surely look great.
Make them the garden planters- Amid the other containers, use old shoes or boots as unique plant holders. Just make few pores in middle of the shoe to allow drainage. Fill the shoes with potting soil and plant saplings in them.
Pass those shoes to kids for playing dress up- Paint your shoes or old sneakers and give them away to your children so that they can use them for playing dress up games. They can use them as clown shoes. They can also come handy in various costume parties.
Use them as a work of art- Such shoes make spectacular work of art. Paint these shoes in realistic designs & have fun with colors. You can even create a paperweight else a bookend by simply inserting a small sand bag into the shoe.
Create a lamp from it- Instead of purchasing an expensive lamp from a shop, turn your shoe into a lamp. Cowboy boots work the best in this case.
Display your shoe in shadow box- The shoes that you would never wear again can also be used to display at any event. Dance shoes can preferably be used for displaying at a special event or occasion.
Pass the shoes to your dog- Remove shoelaces from the shoe and write your dog's name over it with a permanent marker. This way everyone will know that it is your dog's shoe. Your pet could chew it and thus spare the rest of the household footwear.
Turn it into a birdhouse- In your old boot's toe, cut a little hole. In case it already has a hole, you don't need to make any. This hole is the window for your birdhouse. Hang your birdhouse upside down on a tree and it will act as the perfect home for cute tiny birds.
So, don't simply throw away your shoes. Instead, try doing different things with them and see what fun it all is.
